Jamie Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to dip his toes into the world of football management.
Redknapp’s ultimate goal is to end up in the dugout of a top club but he has yet to take the appropriate first steps to make that dream a reality.
Someone did take those steps for him though as Redknapp’s A League of their Own mate James Corden took it upon himself to apply for several positions on behalf of the former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder.
On the most recent episode of the show, Corden revealed that he’d submitted a job application for Redknapp to every club with a managerial vacancy and several without.
The application to take the reins at League Two’s Port Vale didn’t exactly go well.
Port Vale’s brutally succinct response read: “Dear Mr. Redknapp, thank you for your application. Please do not contact us again.”
There was some good news for the Sky Sports pundit though as Wycombe Wanderers took his submission more seriously.
The League One side are already very happy with their current boss but they did come back with an offer for Redknapp.
Wycombe’s response read: “Dear Mr. Redknapp, thank you for your application for the managerial position here at Wycombe Wanderers.

“We have carefully considered your submission but due to the overwhelming success of last season’s promotion-winning side, we feel it would be unfair to remove our current manager, Gareth Ainsworth, from the post.
“However, we would love to offer you an initial three-month contract as one of our first-team coaches with the option, at the end of the trial period, to extend.
“We believe that a former player of your calibre would be a great addition to our coaching team in preparation for a new season in League One.
“Congratulations, thank you for your interest and the club secretary will be in touch in due course.”
