Jamie Carragher deletes tweet as he leads the finger-pointing at Alberto Moreno

He had a nightmare evening

What a tale of two halves.

At the interval, many didn’t see a way back into the tie for Sevilla after dominant spells of Liverpool possession and a 1-0 lead guaranteed by Daniel Sturridge’s wonder-goal.

But whatever Unai Emery said to his charges in the dressing room worked like a charm and the Spanish side came out firing in the second half.

Alberto Moreno was naively caught out of a position when a wayward header arrived at the feet of right back Mariano who strolled into the Reds box and fired a low cross to the feet of Kevin Gameiro.

Moreno, in truth, looked out of his depth for the 90 minutes and it didn’t go unnoticed by fans and pundits alike, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher posting and subsequently deleting a tweet urging Jurgen Klopp to make the signing of a left back his priority come the opening of the transfer window.
