The midfielder took to Instagram after discovering his house had been targeted on Tuesday evening.

James McClean’s house was targeted by thieves while he was playing for West Brom against West Ham.

The Republic of Ireland international shared the news on Instagram after coming home to discover that he had been the victim of burglary.

McClean wrote:

“When you get home from a last min defeat and your house has been robbed..thieving smelly bastards! Great night!”

The former Sunderland and Wigan man had earlier given West Brom the lead in their Premier League clash with fellow strugglers West Ham, only for the Hammers to recover to win the game 2-1 thanks to a dramatic 94th-minute goal from Andy Carroll.

McClean was named RTE Sportsperson of the Year in December after playing a pivotal role in Ireland’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
