Ireland underage international Dan Crowley bangs in another goal in the Eredivisie

Jack O'Toole

Ireland underage international Dan Crowley scored his third goal of the season for Eredivisie side Willem II in their 1-0 win over FC Utretcht on Sunday.

Crowley struck just after the half-time break with a brilliant finish as he continues to enjoy a fine season with Willem after a brief loan spell with SC Cambuur last season, the same club which Jack Byrne once played for.

The former Arsenal midfielder played his underage football for both Ireland and England but told The Herald last year that it’s his dream to play international football for Ireland.

“I have played for England and Ireland but my preference is to play for Ireland. I want to play for Ireland,” Crowley told The Herald.

“You have to be patient and you can’t rush things, Martin [O’Neill] is looking now at players who are playing at a high level and have experience. I don’t know where I am on his list but I am happy with the club situation now, one day the Ireland call will come for me, hopefully, and if that comes I have to be ready.”
