Hopes of Steven Gerrard returning to Liverpool have been dashed

By the sounds of things, Steven Gerrard will not be returning to Liverpool during the MLS off-season.

Having moved to LA Galaxy, it was thought that a loan move back to Anfield was a possibility for Gerrard, with some suggestions that it had even been discussed as part of his move to MLS. in 2009, David Beckham was loaned to AC Milan during his time in LA, something that didn't go down particularly well with MLS Commissioner, Don Garber. When asked if a temporary return to Merseyside was possible for Gerrard, Garber didn't appear too keen. "I don't think so, And I had not heard that was something that was being contemplated,” he said. Unfortunately for some, it appears that Gerrard's playing days at Liverpool are definitely over.
