Henrikh Mkhitaryan aims dig at Jose Mourinho and compliments Arsenal with one parting shot

Ben Kiely

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is already getting in Arsenal fans’ good graces.

Everyone’s favourite Armenian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has arrived at the Emirates.

Mkhitaryan could make his debut for the Gunners on Tuesday night after joining as part of a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Manchester United. Arsenal will be hoping to stay in the race for the top four by getting a result at Swansea.

Ahead of the game, Mkhitaryan had some complimentary things to say about his new boss to the Arsenal Player.

“Of course it’s very important to have respect from your manager. I know that he’s demanding and he likes his players to explore.”

The more he spoke, the more the compliments seemed to reveal themselves as thinly-veiled digs at Jose Mourinho. After dropping that respect line, he then cited Arsenal’s attacking style as one of the major draws of making the move.

“He was one of the reasons to join Arsenal as well because everyone knows he’s a great manager.”

“I’ve known him for a long time and of course it was not very difficult to make this decision to come to Arsenal, because I think the way that Arsenal play makes it a dream for every player to come here and play offensive football.”

Shots fired. Arsenal fans will love this.
