Gonzalo Higuain is on the market.
The Argentine striker scored scored an incredible 36 goals in 35 Serie A games last season, a record for the Italian top flight, to help Napoli finish behind Juventus and qualify for the Champions League.
However, the 28 year old reportedly wants to leave the Italian club and, according to The Mirror, is interested in joining Liverpool.Higuain has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal in the past, and is reportedly undeterred by Liverpool’s lack of European football next season.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may be in the market for a striker, as Christian Benteke’s time at the club appears to be coming to an end, and doubts remain about Daniel Sturridge’s future.
Higuain scored an impressive 91 goals in 146 appearance for Napoli and, should he leave, The Mirror reports that the Italian side will attempt to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.
