Should have gone to...

Goalkeeper thinks midfielder is best thing since Parma ham

Paul Pogba has the chance tonight to help his Juventus side into the Champions League final as they face Real Madrid leading 2-1 from last week.

The former Manchester United player missed the opening leg due to injury, and ahead of tonight’s game a certain Italian goalkeeper has had a pot-shot at his former employer for letting him go.

The France international is believed to be among the most highly sought after players in Europe this summer, and could be heading back to England and the blue half of Manchester.

But Gianluigi Buffon feels that Alex Ferguson should have had his eyes seen to for letting the player leave Old Trafford in the first place.

We’re not fans of anyone making jokes at the expense of the short-sighted but Buffon probably has a point,

‘I have been in football many years but the decision of Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United to not play Pogba and let him leave is one of the strangest I have ever seen.’

‘After just a few training sessions we saw how good he was. It cannot have been the same player they saw in Manchester – we thought they maybe needed glasses.’

‘I have never seen a player who is so good at his age, he is so strong, so technically gifted, has exceptional all-round play.’

Warming to his theme (while probably being fed some milk) Buffon carried on with his catty comments and believes that if will take a huge amount of money to prise the player away from Turin:

‘Pogba can do things only Pogba can, similar to Messi and Ronaldo. United let one of the top players in the world leave but that has been only good news for us.’

‘Of course he will be linked with the teams with big money like Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and City, but at the moment he is achieving dreams at Juventus.’

‘If any team wanted to buy him I would feel sure they would have to break the world record fee.’
