German football club advertise eco-friendly brothel in matchday programme

Simon Lloyd

We’re pretty certain the name SV Sandhausen means very little to the majority of British football fans, but the Bundesliga 2 side are currently headline news over in Germany.

Unfortunately, it isn’t for their on-field performances. Any hopes of promotion have long since faded, and the side currently sit in 12th position in the German second division.

Their 2-0 defeat at home to Nurnberg was hardly worth much in the way of media attention, but what appeared in their match programme certainly caused a stir.

As highlighted by German tabloid Bild, the club’s match-day magazine featured advertising for a new brothel… Not just any old brothel – an eco-friendly brothel.

Advertising for the brothel wasn’t limited to the programme, either; it was also featured on the pitch-side hoardings.

Apparently, promotional deals are being offered to football fans until the end of the season at the ‘environmentally concerned’ venue, named Bienenstock.
