Gary Neville’s thoughts on David Luiz have been known for some time.
The Sky Sports pundit said the Brazilian played like he was being controlled by “a 10-year-old on a PlayStation” during Luiz’s previous spell at Chelsea.
Luiz made his first start for Chelsea since re-joining the club for £34m from Paris Saint-Germain on Friday night against Liverpool, and Neville was on co-commentary duty.
The former Valencia coach appeared dumbfounded that Antonio Conte would sign Luiz, a talented player prone to the occasional brain fart and defensive mistake.
“David Luiz is obviously a big talent, but I would have never put those two together,” Neville said.
“I’m trying to think of an analogy – it’s probably like me and Miss World.”
Something tells us Gary had been waiting to use that one for a while. Nicely done.
