It was always going to be like this.
Gary Neville has kept his word and appeared on the popular YouTube channel, Arsenal Fan TV.
The pundit received some flak for his comments in the aftermath of Arsenal’s disappointing loss to Chelsea earlier this month as the Gunners succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Neville labelled one fan an “idiot” for bringing a banner into the stadium calling for Arsene Wenger to be dismissed from his duties.
His criticism also surrounded the YouTube channel in general with Arsenal Fan TV responding by saying Neville was “out of touch” with football fans.
Neville was then invited onto the show by channel founder and host, Robbie Lyle.
A number of topics were covered but most of the discussion surrounded Arsenal fans’ relationship with the club and their right to air their grievances.
It’s a really good watch and we must commend Neville for appearing in the debate as you would think there would be not many other pundits in Sky Sports who would do this.
Neville responded to the idiot comments with some hint of regret but nevertheless insisted that he wasn’t calling all Arsenals by that term.
“I know a lot of people have found it difficult to accept the word idiot. You’re paying more attention to it than I think it’s worth. I didn’t call every Arsenal fan in the country an idiot and couldn’t have an opinion.
“But Wenger, who I have been very critical of in the past from a football point of view, I think he deserves better than that.”
