Gary Neville mixes his newly-acquired Spanish with English swearing as he instructs his Valencia players

Unlike many Englishmen in Spain, the Neville brothers have put a considerable amount of effort effort into learning the native tongue.

Having worked at Valencia as a coach since the start of the season, Phil already knew enough of the lingo to get by before his older brother was appointed as manager in early December.

It seems Gary is also learning quickly, and is seen barking out orders to his team in Spanish in the video below.

But it’s not entirely the local language being used by the former Manchester United captain, who reverts to some colourful English words when ordering a substitute to get ready quickly.
