Gareth Bale has been left out of the Welsh training squad ahead of their first major tournament in 58 years.
Chris Coleman has named a 29-man squad to go to Portugal at the end of the month, but the team’s talisman will not be present as he competes in the Champions League final with Real Madrid – his second since joining the club three seasons ago.
The final takes place on May 28th – just three days before the deadline for countries to submit their final 23-man squads for the European Championships in France, where Wales have been drawn in Group B alongside England, Russia and Slovakia.
Coleman will use the pre-Euros training camp to finalise his selections, which will no doubt include Bale, assuming he recovers from a slight knee strain in time, as he is expected to do.
