Former Manchester City defender blasts Zlatan after Galaxy win

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha got into it with Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Los Angeles Galaxy’s 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Sunday.

Goals either side of half-time from Uriel Antuna and Ibrahimovic were enough to seal the Galaxy the win as they keep pace with league leaders LAFC but controversy arose after the match with Ibrahimovic heading to the Salt Lake dressing room to supposedly apologise to Onuoha.

Both players squared off against each other during the game after Ibrahimovic caught Onuoha with his arm with the former England underage international dismissing the Swede’s apology after the game.

“He came in to apologise after the game, because from 60 minutes in, he’s saying he’s going to do me, he’s going to hurt me for that game,” Onuoha said after the match.

“This is a guy who is the face of MLS, as he calls himself, and he plays that way on the field. If someone comes in and says that to me, I’m not going to accept his apology. It’s unacceptable.”

Ibrahimovic said that he needed confrontation to sometimes stimulate him during games and he added that he feels good when he’s angry.

“I like to feel alive,” he added. “I like when it becomes duels and that because sometimes, not that I fall asleep, but I don’t feel alive if they don’t activate me. They need to activate me or else it becomes too easy. I know me. When I get angry I feel good.”
