Former Arsenal man may be joining the League of Ireland

He spent a decade and a half with the Gunners

An eight-season Premier League veteran is training on the east coast of Ireland.

Justin Hoyte, who played six years with the Arsenal senior squad after graduating from their academy, is now a free agent.

After leaving the Emirates, Hoyte had a brief loan spell at Sunderland before spending seven years at Middlesbrough. He then made the move to Milwall before dropping down to the League Two to play for Dagenham & Redbridge.

However, the 32-year-old was released along with 11 other players after they were relegated to the National League. Now, he’s trying to keep hi feet busy in Wicklow with Bray Wanderers.

Bray boss Harry Kenny told the Irish Mirror that Hoyte is a free agent and has been on trial with his side for a week.

He admitted that they are looking to add a couple of more bodies to their team, and Hoyte is certainly in contention to join them, but they will make the final call in within the next few days.

“We’re having a look. His agent gave me a call and we’ve taken him in for a few days.”

“There’s always the possibility he could sign.”

“We’ll have a better idea in a day or two. It doesn’t come down to finances, we just need to add to the squad. He’s a free agent.”
