Getting stuffed 4-0 at home by Barcelona would have been a very bitter pill to swallow for Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez.
The scoreline didn’t flatter Barca one bit. They completely dominated in the Bernabeu, turning the heat up on on Perez and the man he employed as manager in summer, Rafa Benitez.
With Lionel Messi only returning from injury late on in the game, Luis Suarez played a key role in Barca’s victory.
Suarez, who was linked with Real on a number of occasions when at Liverpool, eventually joined the Catalan club in the summer of 2014.
Before his arrival at Barca, Perez was asked what he thought of the Suarez, and described him as “not a very good player”.
Unfortunately for Perez, he was recorded making the comment. As you’d expect, he’s been reminded of his premature assessment of the player in the wake of the latest El Clasico meeting.
