LOL and indeed ROTFL.
There are increasingly vocal murmurs abound that this season’s televised games aren’t really up to scratch. Whilst some welcome the live coverage of as many Premier League clubs as possible, others bemoan the fact that ‘Super Sundays’ and their ilk are increasing insipid.
Saturday’s early kick-off between Watford and Everton is perhaps a case in point. There is no doubting that the fixture is of great importance to the supporters of both sides (not to mention Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy watchers), but to the neutral or casual observer, it is not exactly must-see fare. That is to say it is not a ‘glamour tie’.
The problem with this particular fixture is that it has a somewhat unfortunate official hashtag. In this age of text-speak and abbreviated slang, the social media accompaniment for the match is #WATEVE, which of course sounds suitably dismissive of proceedings at Vicarage Road.
Twitter being Twitter, there were no shortage of individuals making light of the fact…
The #WATEVE hashtag sums up how I feel about the fixture
