Everyone is taking the Mickey out of this England fan’s shirt

Oh no m8...

Nooruddean Choudry

What was he thinking?

You’re packed, you’ve sorted out your tickets and travel, and you’ve purchased a very expensive replica of the new England shirt. After changing your pounds to euros and arranging your accommodation out in France, you decide to treat yourself with a name and number on the back of your jersey.

But what do you go for? Captain Rooney? He may lose his place. Kane or Vardy perhaps? Maybe even get a personalised effort and have your own name proudly adorning your gleaming new top. Oooor, you could always send a defiant message to would-be terrorists using text-speak.

This England fan was caught on camera with the farcical message of ‘I 8 ISIS’ emblazoned on his England top, presumably meaning he hates the militant Daesh regime, rather than boastfully suggesting that he has in fact consumed the terrorist organisation in an act of selfless feasting.

As you can imagine, many were wondering why exactly he would do such a thing (ignoring for a moment the number and lettering were regulation Premier League font). Whatever possessed him to frighten would-be terrorists with an appreciation of tortured puns, he certainly got people talking (and mainly laughing at him)…
