It was not a good weekend for Tim Howard.
Many blame his laissez-faire approach to dealing with crosses into his area for Everton’s defeat to Arsenal. It certainly isn’t the first time in recent games that the American has been singled out for his gaffes.
The Liverpool Echo conducted a poll asking whether the 36-year-old should be dropped from Roberto Martinez’s starting eleven and a whopping 86% answered in the affirmative.
It looks like Joel Robles will be given a run in Everton’s Capital One Cup game with Norwich City on Tuesday, but Howard is expected to return for the visit of Sunderland in the Premier League.
Many Evertonians feel that his powers have waned significantly in recent seasons, particularly following his heroics at the 2014 World Cup, where he became a meme sensation for his heroics.
But now the blue half of Merseyside have had enough, and they are by no means backward in coming forward in their chagrin…
Tim Howard won't come for crosses within his six yard box as he's scared and fearful of getting hurt. Back to the MLS you go. #USA #USA

I've had a lager, but I'm absolutely certain I've only seen Tim Howard make about seven saves in ten years playing for us.

It's time for Roberto Martinez to have a difficult conversation with Tim Howard – and it has been for some time.

Tim Howard remaining fit all season as the rest of Everton's regular defence gets injured reminds me of that Bill Hicks line on Reagan.

It's a good job I drink because Tim Howard would wreck nearly everyone of my weekends

Major papers now calling out Tim Howard for his mistakes, but they've always been there. Good shot stopper occasionally at best.

Is it true that Flappy Bird got cancelled as Tim Howard held the copyrights?
