England’s starting lineup vs. Iceland is in – Sterling, Kane and Sturridge start

England’s last 16 clash against Iceland is fast approaching and the teams are in.

Having been frustrated by Slovakia in their final group match, Roy Hodgson’s side will hope to rediscover the scoring touch against an Iceland side that have been one of the tournament’s surprise packages.

Earning draws with Portugal and Hungary, a stoppage time winner against Austria sent Iceland through as runners-up in Group F – meaning England avoided Portugal in the knockout stages.

Although many English supporters will prefer a game against Iceland than facing a team consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lars Lagerback’s side have proven that they are extremely well organised in defence and will be difficult to break down.

Added to that, the fact remains that England have never won a knockout game at the European Championships on foreign soil.
