Diego Costa reveals what he said to Pedro during heated exchange at Spurs

It's understandable if tempers were running high among Chelsea players last night.

A Dele Alli brace ended their 13-game winning streak and snuffed out their chances of making Premier League history. Antonio Conte's men were on the verge of equalling Arsenal's record 14-game win run from 'The Invincibles' era. Things did boil over at one point between Diego Costa and Pedro when the two became embroiled in a heated exchange after a failed counter attack early on in the first half. Speaking to the IBTimes UK today, Costa revealed what was said during the altercation:

"Nothing happened. We have a great understanding with each other. When you have a trusted relationship and intimacy with a teammate it is normal for these things to happen. "It was just a moment during the game, and that's it. It was nothing. I told him: 'You have to get in there, why didn't you go?' He said 'I went' and I said he didn't. That's it. Pedro is my brother and we love each other."

Despite the defeat Chelsea are still clear at the top of the table by five points and are current favourites for the title. However having such an incredible run halted by a bitter rival must have rankled. Costa also revealed what the mood was like in the Chelsea dressing room after the final whistle. He said:

"We have to be aware that we have lost just one game in the last 14. The boss knew that this moment could come. But the important thing is that the team have fought to get a result. We are hurting, but there is a great spirit in the dressing room. We are not happy when we lose, but that's it."
