You won’t see a consolation goal better than this one from Derry.

A Derry goalkeeper had a moment of glory last week that earned praised from a Republic of Ireland stalwart.

Magherafelt Sky Blues ‘keeper Dominic Crozier managed to bag himself a peach in the clash against Dervock. With his team trailing 1-0, Crozier stepped up to take a free kick from well within his own half.

He hit, he hoped and watched as the 70-yard effort sailed all the way over his opposite number and into the back of the net.

Dervock ended up grabbing an 11th-hour winner, but it was Crozier who easily had the moment of the match. Just look at what that meant to his teammates.

The clip comes courtesy of Emmett McGuckin who played for Derry GAA for years.
