There's been a lot of confusion about this

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iker Muniain have been implicated in a case of sexual assault in Spain.

A protected witness in a court case against Spanish porn baron Ignacio Fernandez Allende, better known as Torbe, alleges that, in 2012, she was taken to a hotel room where she was sexually assaulted by two footballers, one of whom was named as Athletic Bilbao’s Iker Muniain.

De Gea, then a Spain U21 teammate of Muniain’s, has been accused of organising the meeting by calling Torbe to put him in contact with the girl, who was told she would be paid well.

The report comes from Spanish outlet El Diario and it claims that De Gea and Muniain may have to provide evidence at a future date.

However, despite being ‘reported’ by various media outlets De Gea has not been sent home from the Spain camp.

The rumour that these allegations against De Gea have led to his dismissal from the Spanish squad appear to have started with renowned fake news site the ‘Forest Echo News’.

We have previously outlined the ‘exploits’ of Simon Rowntree and the Forest Echo News and it appears that he has struck again.

But De Gea is still very much with the Spanish squad, though Marca are reporting that he will speak to the media this evening to address the allegations being reported by El Diario.
