Former Ireland U21 international pictured urinating in glass at Cheltenham

Disgusting

Not the kind of Gold Cup you were thinking of?

MK Dons midfielder and former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Samir Carruthers has sparked a storm at Cheltenham after appearing to urinate into a pint glass in a VIP box on the opening day of the festival.

A photographer captured images of Carruthers relieving himself into an empty glass, being egged on by teammate Jake Forster-Caskey, Bristol City midfielder Luke Ayling and Northampton Town’s James Collins who dumped the contents of his glass from the balcony of the private box.

Carruthers has played for Ireland at U21 and U19 levels but he won’t be earning a senior call-up with antics like this.

The 22-year-old’s club career began at Aston Villa before a loan move to MK Dons that eventually ended with a permanent deal.

A spokesman from MK Dons said of the images: “The club is aware of pictures circulating in the national media of one of its players at the Cheltenham Festival. The club has commenced an internal investigation into the matter.”

The footballers were joined in the VIP area by reality TV star Jessica Hayes and model Katie Salmon, both of whom flashed their breasts at the photographers.

Nothing but class at the races.
