Claudio Ranieri is basically strolling around Euro 2016 with a shopping trolley

Making a list, checking it twice

Fancy a game for the league winners, a pay rise, Champions League football and a move to… Leicester?

Three good reasons to make the switch to the Premier League champions and one city that has some charm to it, and plenty of competitively priced supermarkets.

Claudio Ranieri is back at it with The Foxes and meticulously adding to a squad that won last season’s league title by 10 points. The Italian has already made some astute signings but he is not finished yet.

The versatile Robbie Brady [above] is said to be close to securing a switch to Leicester, for £12m, but Ranieri is not finished there.

He had already watched Iceland defender Ragnar Sigurdsson before his second round heroics against England. That goal-scoring, Jamie Vardy-denying performance has steeled his resolve to bring the 30-year-old in from Russian side Krasnodar. That one game may have significantly added to his transfer fee, however.

Wolfsburg and Schalke have already made contact with Krasnodar, according to The Guardian, but Leicester and Tottenham are now declaring their interest.

Crazily enough, Sigurdsson is said to be available for a little as €4.1m [£5m]. If City can secure his services, Sigurdsson may follow in N’Golo Kante’s footsteps as bargain of the season.

As for Kante, Real Madrid are now said to be interested in the French midfielder while City are lining up Nampalys Mendy from Nice for £12m as a possible replacement should he leave.
