Absolutely brutal from Chelsea
Chelsea appeared to troll Brighton and Hove Albion with their announcement tweet for Marc Cucurella after announcing the signing of the defender.
The Blues reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign the Spanish left-back from Brighton for £52.5m earlier this week, however, Brighton were quick to deny such reports.
A tweet from the club’s account on Wednesday said: “CLUB STATEMENT: MARC CUCURELLA. Contrary to inaccurate reports from numerous media outlets this evening, no agreement has been reached with any club to sell Marc Cucurella.”

Now, after confirming the singing of the 24-year-old on a six-year deal, Chelsea seemingly took a swipe at Brighton by copying the format of their tweet that claimed that no agreement had been reached.
The Blues tweeted: “CLUB STATEMENT: MARC CUCURELLA. Following reports from numerous media outlets this week, we can confirm an agreement has been reached with Brighton and Hove Albion for the signing of Marc Cucurella.”

Cucurella joined Graham Potter’s side from Getafe in a deal worth £15m last summer but was a standout performer in his debut season.
Blues defender Levi Colwell has made the move to Brighton on loan as part of the Cucurella deal.
