The Ivorian midfielder has gone from strength to strength since scoring a dramatic equaliser in a 4-4 draw with Arsenal under Alan Pardew.

He has made a real impact on games ever since arriving from FC Twente.
Worst player on the pitch tonight…… TIOTE. Can only pass a ball. 2yrds. Cnt tackle. Must of give iy away at least 10 times

Tiote has been the worst player on the pitch for me today. Has looked completely at sea when he's had the ball at his feet. #NUFC

Tiote worst player on the pitch by a mile…. selected based on performances three seasons ago

Tiote is diabolical again. Aside from that and the own goal we haven't been too shabby #NUFC #BFC

Cheick Tiote was Burnley's most dangerous player today. #nufc

He has been a model of consistency throughout his six-and-a-half years on Tyneside.
Tiote on to shore up the midfield by swivelling 720 degrees and losing the ball in the final third.

So, when interest came in from the Chinese Super League, the Toon Army were devastated by the news.

Tioté had been linked with Shandong Luneng, where he would have linked up with former St James’ Park teammate Papiss Cissé, but has instead completed a move to second-tier outfit Beijing BG.
The club was only founded in 2004, but have already attracted luminaries of world football such as former Aalesunds FK danger-man Leke James and Rubin Okotie, who has played in three different leagues with ‘Bundesliga’ in the name.
There was some surprise at Tioté’s final destination.
Tiote spent so many final games at St James' Park spinning around in a circle with the ball I'm surprised he hasn't ended up in Australia.

However, all things considered, Newcastle fans have come together to wish the midfielder well as he takes the next step in a career that will definitely be remembered for more than just that one goal. We promise.
Goodbye Cheick Tioté, you scored that goal against Arsenal in 2011 and you still haven't stopped trying to score it again.
