Bring up the draw-bridge.
Jack Grealish will not be playing senior international football for Ireland or England until next season, at least.
The teenage winger was in touch with Ireland boss Martin O’Neill, on Tuesday, to let him know he would be delaying any decision on his future for a few months yet.
While O’Neill revealed his disappointment at Grealish’s stand-point, he maintains the Aston Villa winger could yet be wearing a green jersey, in a senior, competitive game, before the year is out.
Former Ireland captain Kenny Cunningham has had enough of Grealish’s reluctance to commit to one country or another.
He backed up comments, previously aired on Setanta Sports, in a Newstalk interview, this morning. Cunningham does not want O’Neill or anyone in the FAI to go cap in hand to the Birmingham native any more.
It would appear that Cunningham’s stance has the backing of Ireland’s greatest ever rugby player.
