Brendan Rodgers won’t be applying for the FIFA job after meeting with Liverpool’s owners

He's staying on

Happy Liverpool fans?

It seems tonight that Liverpool fans can ‘look forward’ to another few months of Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool after his meeting with the club’s owners today in the city.

It’s being reported tonight that the Antrim man will not be sacked by FSG, despite the club finishing the season in 6th, and losing six of their last nine Premier league games.

Speculation had indicated that the Irishman would struggle to hold onto his role having missed out on Champions League football, but it seems this afternoon that the club and the Yanks are going to stand by their man for a little while longer at least.

A number of managers had been linked with the role including Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti but for now there is now vacancy at the club.

Fifa will have to look elsewhere for a replacement for Sepp.
