We love a good Brendan Rodgers quote.
In the past, The Brodge has been known to express his inner philosopher, with classics such as “I will leave no stone unturned in my quest – and that quest will be relentless”, and “I’ve always said that you can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope”.
He’s come out with another gem this morning though, finding fairly cringeworthy way to describe Steven Gerrard’s legacy at Liverpool.
Rodgers decided to bring Liverpool’s politicians into things for some reason, saying “I asked a lot of my staff to describe Steven in one word and I’d use the word ‘Liverpool’.
“What Steven has given to this city, politicians haven’t given. He’s a wonderful symbol for the people and he’s very much about looking after his people.”
I’m sure there are plenty of Everton fans who would disagree with you there Brendan.
