After having his approach for Joe Gomez reportedly rebuffed by Jurgen Klopp, new Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is set to come back with an offer for a different defender.
Rodgers is keen on shoring up his new defence and, to do so, he’s pinpointed Reds defender Andre Wisdom as a potential solution.
Wisdom, who spent the last season on-loan at Norwich, was handed his Liverpool debut by Rodgers in 2012 and the new Hoops boss is keen on a reunion with the 23-year-old, who has seen his progression stall on Merseyside.
The Scottish Sun report that Rodgers wants to make Wisdom his first signing at Parkhead for a reported fee of around £3 million (€3.85 million).
Wisdom likely has fond memories of his time under Rodgers, as it was he who gave Wisdom his chance for the Reds after the youngster was denied first-team opportunities by both Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish.
Rodgers joined Celtic two weeks ago on a 12-month rolling contract in his first job since leaving Anfield last October.
