Would Roy Keane be at home watching Sky Sports News of a Tuesday afternoon?
Or is he more of a ‘Cash in the Attic’ kinda guy?
If the Republic of Ireland assistant manager is at home watching that 20-minute sports news cycle go round and round he may have been displeased to learn that ‘Brendan Rodgers is entering advanced talks with Celtic over their recently vacated manager’s job.
Keane had been a hot favourite to replace Ronny Deila at Celtic Park, with some bookies going so far as to suspend betting on the Corkman, but it now seems former Liverpool manager Rodgers has stolen a march on the former Celtic midfielder.
Rodgers is said to be the number one choice of the Celtic board and is in a second round of discussions over the job.
Not only that, Sky Sources are suggesting former Wigan boss Malky Mackay has also been interviewed which suggests that either Keane has already turned them down or he wasn’t a contender.

Paul Lambert and David Moyes have not been short-listed for the job and Sky are not even mentioning former Sunderland and Ipswich boss Keane.
It’s enough to convince the former Manchester United midfielder to don his plus fours, get down to the K Club for Wednesday’s Irish Open Pro-Am and ask majority shareholder Dermot Desmond what is the story.
This yellow ticker bombshell comes just a couple of days after Deila gave Keane his seal of approval.
“So much of managing in this job is about personality because you need to be a figurehead too. You need a strong personality. [Keane] will handle all that pressure, to be a very good leader,” said the Norwegian.
In hindsight, getting the green light from the manager being shunted out the door might not be the best sign.
Keane may be in the running but as it stands the former Swansea and Liverpool boss would appear to be in the box seat.
