BREAKING: The Republic of Ireland’s final 23-man squad for Euro 2016 is here

Conan Doherty

Here it is, the squad that will represent Ireland at Euro 2016.

Martin O’Neill has had to cut his panel to 23 for the final tournament in France and, ahead of the 11pm deadline on Tuesday night, he has submitted his chosen ones.

Ireland take on Sweden on June 13 for their first game of the competition before clashes with Belgium and Italy on June 18 and 22 respectively.

The team fly out to France on Wednesday week but Harry Arter has had to pull out of the squad with injury.

It was a disappointing final farewell in Cork on Tuesday night with a 2-1 defeat to Belarus. Some players stepped up and showed their best hand to the manager in what was their final chance. Some let themselves down and probably played themselves out of the reckoning.

Keiren Westwood is in despite both Forde and Given getting the nod ahead of him for the Belarus game.

And, despite all the chat about Robbie Keane not making it, it seems that the skipper is on the plane.

David McGoldrick will be fairly disappointed to have missed the cut after a great showing against Holland whilst both Stephen Quinn and David Meyler make it in Arter’s absence.

No Callum O’Dowda. No Darron Gibson. No Eunan O’Kane.

As it is, just 23 can go and here are they are. Your Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2016.
