Bayern Munich line up Jupp Heynckes to replace Carlo Ancelotti

Paul Moore

The German champions have identified their man.

Shock! Horror! It looks like Jurgen Klopp is going nowhere.

Pretty much every Liverpool fan felt that the reports linking their manager with the vacant managerial position at Bayern Munich were complete and utter scheisse but, that being said, there’s no doubting the appeal of the German giants.

At present, the Bavarians are five points behind Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga race and despite their 3-0 Champions League defeat to PSG, the German champions will still fancy themselves to get out of their group.

As for the league, there’s an awful long way to go. It appears that Klopp isn’t heading back to Germany any time soon though, but who’s taking over the hotseat?

One man that knows what it takes to get the job done in Europe is former Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes and it appears that he’s returning to the Allianz, as reported by Bild.

The 72-year-old is expected to take over from Willy Sagnol as an interim coach until the end of the season.

As you may remember, with Pep Guardiola already lined-up to replace him, Heynckes left the club in 2013 after winning the treble. How can he top that? We’ll have to wait and see.

Renowned German journalist Raphael Honigstein also confirmed this news on ESPN.
