Barcelona’s manager is taking the threat of Celtic serious.

The two clubs get their Champions League campaign underway on Tuesday night at the Nou Camp.

While Barcelona are heavy favourites for the tie, the home side come into the game on the back of a shock 1-2 defeat to Alves last Saturday. Meanwhile Celtic’s confidence is sure to be high after their 5-1 destruction of Rangers.

The two sides played in Dublin in a pre-season friendly in July, and the gulf in quality between the sides was evident, despite the pedestrian nature of the game.

However, Luis Enrique isn’t taking the prospect of the Scottish champions lightly, and praised three of Celtic’s attacking players – Patrick Roberts, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.

The Barcelona coach also praised Roberts following the game in Dublin.

“As for football, I’m worried about some of their best players,” Enrique said in his press conference ahead of the game.

“With Dembele, after scoring a hat-trick (against Rangers), Sinclair, Roberts. They have very good players and they could give us some problems.”

Enrique also spoke warmly about his counterpart, Brendan Rodgers.

“I like him as a coach, I knew him from before, I met him at the mini stadium watching Barca B. He’s a lover of good football, he has a very attractive football idea. I like coaches who play in attack, and prefer players who like the burden to take the initiative.

“We’ve seen that in Celtic. I like Brendan Rodgers as a coach and I like his ideas.”
