Kevin Prince-Boateng, the former Spurs and Portsmouth midfielder, has had one of the more interesting career paths in recent memory.
And that’s without mentioning his fledgeling career as a rap superstar that you may or may not have heard about.

In terms of the football teams Boateng has played for, and the order in which he has played for them, his career makes little sense. Moving from Tottenham to Dortmund on loan, and then going to Portsmouth? Joining Genoa and before even playing a single game moving to AC Milan? Leaving Milan to join Schalke, before then going back to AC?
And then there’s trying a single season each at Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt and Sassuolo over the last few years like he’s a bored teenager looking for the best four star team to play with on Fifa.
His career trajectory is now set to get even more confusing with the news that Barcelona, yes, that Barcelona, not the rip-off Ecuadorian version, are set to sign the Ghanian midfielder on loan.
The deal has been agreed by Sassuolo and includes a potential buyout clause. The fee is believed to be €2 million for the loan and €8 million should Valverde decide to buy the midfielder permanently.
Sassuolo’s general director Giovanni Carnevali is believed to be flying to Barcelona this afternoon to conclude the deal.
It’s about time that strange Paulinho-shaped hope was filled at the Nou Camp. Messi will be delighted.
