Not the news United fans want to hear coming up to the busy Christmas period.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted Eric Bailly is facing a lengthy time out with a ‘serious injury.’
The Ivorian centre-half has missed United’s last eight matches and fans were hopeful that a return was on the horizon. Mourinho, however, has dashed such hopes and it looks as though he will be without one of his best defenders for the hectic Christmas fixture schedule.
According to The Daily Telegraph’s James Ducker, Mourinho admitted that Bailly may require surgery, which means the 23-year-old is facing several weeks out at least.

United got back to winning ways on Wednesday night as they edged Bournemouth 1-0 at Old Trafford. It was much-needed after Sunday’s dismal defeat to Manchester City, with Romelu Lukaku scoring the game’s only goal.
United were far from their best, though, managing only two shots on target in the entire game. David De Gea was also busier than he perhaps anticipated he would be, making a string of saves to stop the Cherries from grabbing an equaliser. United travel to the Hawthorns on Sunday to face West Brom.
