Aston Villa’s Twitter account is trying to move on very quickly from Delph but fans won’t let them

Nothing to see here

And all Tim Sherwood is trying to do is win football matches… mate.

Aston Villa couldn’t have picked a worse time for a pre-season friendly. Well, Delph couldn’t have picked a worse time to go completely back on his word.

Or, rather, the club’s Twitter account couldn’t have picked a worse time to give pointless updates on a pointless match.

Fabian Delph has left Aston Villa. It’s official. And he already seems to have found time to speak to kids at Manchester City’s academy.

Luckily though, Villa had things to take their mind off it.

A game with SC Braga.

Exactly five minutes after Delph’s departure is announced…

Timing is everything.

Hope..

But not for Villa’s social media.

Delph isn’t in Portugal. He’s been talking to Bryan Swanson.

Meanwhile, it’s all going on in Braga.

But some aren’t as appreciative.

Delph is unveiled in Eastlands.

But, at the exact same time…

And no-one’s surprised.

All hope is lost.

A clean sheet.

A suggestion.

A solution.
