Arsene Wenger slams “disrespectful” treatment of Louis van Gaal

Arsenal manager refuses to be drawn on the matter

It’s little secret that Louis van Gaal is in serious danger of being out of a job in the near future – or at least that’s what’s being claimed by some media outlets.

Van Gaal used his Wednesday press conference to tear into some reporters, claiming he was owed an apology for some of the things that had been written about him since Manchester United’s defeat to Norwich at the weekend.

It now appears that the Dutchman has an ally in Arsene Wenger, with the Arsenal boss refusing to be drawn on speculation about Van Gaal’s future.

“I do not want to go into a world of speculation,” Wenger said at his own press conference. “I have personally huge respect for Louis van Gaal and I think what is going on there at the moment is disrespectful.

“This guy has worked for 30 years in football and has delivered unbelievable quality of work. Of course he deserves more time.”
