This all seems a bit unnecessary.
In case you didn’t know, Arsenal’s following is passionately divided when it comes to their legendary manager, Arsene Wenger. In fact, Arsenal’s following tend to be passionately divided about most things, but that’s for another day.
Despite the fact that Wenger has brought attractive football, global renown, numerous trophies and financial stability to the club, there’s a huge swathe of Gooners who want him to leave, and have yearned for his exit for years now.
That’s in spite of the fact that his last major honour for the club was the FA Cup only 16 months ago. Their main argument is that he has failed to deliver the Premier League trophy in 12 years and counting.
On Saturday, the Emirates Stadium hosted a very special occasion. Arsenal Legends took on ‘Milan Glorie’, with the likes of Jens Lehmann, Freddie Ljungberg and Robert Pires pitting their wits (and creaky knees) against such luminaries as Paolo Maldini, Ruud Gullit, Marcel Desailly and Cafu.
It was all in aid of The Arsenal Foundation, and the atmosphere was joyous and celebratory. For the most part at least.
An Arsenal fan by the name of Joeboy (no relation) shared footage of his fellow Gooners booing loudly at the charity game. According to Joe, the incongruous and unedifying jeers were directed towards poor Arsene.

For every ‘classless fucking fool’ amongst the Gunners’ supporter, there are many Arsenal fans – including Joe – who trust in Wenger, or least want maintain a level of respect and dignity in their actions towards him. As you can see below, many were far from impressed…
