Arsenal fans have made no secret of the fact they’d quite like a new striker this summer.
Yet again, the club were linked with a move for Gonzalo Higuain, only for Juventus to go and spend a good chunk of their Paul Pogba money on bringing the Argentine to Turin.
Karim Benzema, another name that has been linked with a move to The Emirates in summers gone by, appears to be staying put in Madrid, leaving Arsenal to pursue Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
But before Arsene Wenger goes flashing the cash, perhaps he should take note of what new signing, young Takuma Asano, did in Brazil last night.
By all accounts, Japan’s 5-4 defeat to Nigeria at the Olympics seemed like a dull affair. But, with his side trailing 5-2 with twenty minutes to go, the 21-year-old’s deft back heel flick provided Wenger with the perfect excuse not to go and lump silly money on a proven goalscorer.

Not surprisingly, those Gooners that were awake to witness it were practically wetting themselves with excitement at their new signing’s piece of magic – with some even coming up with Lion King-inspired songs for the youngster…
