They say that while football fans are almost universally vocal about the transfer policies of their respective clubs, they ultimately have no influence over how the chequebook is used.
Somebody try telling that to this excitable Arsenal fan, who spotted Arsene Wenger riding his bike on Venice Beach and couldn’t resist giving him a less than subtle nudge about reported summer target Riyad Mahrez.
The Gunners have been in California as part of their pre-season schedule, and Wenger had clearly decided that he wants to enjoy the tranquility of the summer break before the Premier League circus resumes again in a few weeks time.
No such luck.
It’s no surprise that Arsenal fans all over the world are desperate to prize the Player of the Year from Champions Leicester – whether or not that Mahrez’s position is one they need to be prioritising is another conversation – but this guy is so keen on the idea that he quite literally chases the Frenchman along the famous Venice boardwalk, begging him to get the deal across the line before the transfer window shuts in just over a month’s time.
Only Mahrez, only Mahrez, oke? Please!
Dan Wenger hanya tersenyum saja. :)) pic.twitter.com/aOlhlENOty

This guy isn’t the only Arsenal fan to get carried away with the Mahrez rumours, though. In fact, there is one supporter who’s so confident that the Algerian winger will be making his way to the red side of North London that he’s already got a shirt with his name on the back.

August could be an interesting month.
