Well, who else would you ask?
After deciding to take his first steps into football management, it’s been revealed that Gary Neville consulted his former Manchester United manager before agreeing to become Valencia boss.
Having already claiming that his former captain has the leadership qualities to succeed as a manager, Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Neville already appeared to have his mind made up about his next career move when the pair discussed it recently.
“Yes, Gary had a quiet word with me, but I think he’d already made up his mind on this one,” Ferguson said.
“He really wanted to give the Valencia job a go. I think I was probably just giving the seal of approval.”
Neville was announced as Valencia’s manager on Wednesday and will take charge after the team face Barcelona this weekend.
