A really nice strike.
An Ireland XI took the lead against Celtic on Sunday in Scott Brown’s testimonial at Celtic Park. Martin O’Neill named an experimental line-up, captained by Seamus Coleman, and saw his team open the scoring through Alan Browne.
The Preston North End midfielder curled a shot from the edge of the Celtic penalty area past goalkeeper Dorus de Vries after six minutes. Callum O’Dowda pressed high to help Ireland win the ball back before it landed with Browne. The Cork native took his goal very well.
Leigh Griffiths scored an equaliser before half-time for Celtic, who completed their second domestic treble in two seasons on Saturday with a 2-0 cup final victory over Motherwell at Hampden Park.
