Adidas have absolutely nailed it with these glorious World Cup away jerseys

Matthew Gault

Shut up and take my money.

As the World Cup slowly but surely comes into view, adidas have whet our appetite with some of the colourful kits that will be on display during the quadrennial footballing extravaganza.

The countries are: Germany, Russia, Spain, Belgium, Japan, Sweden, Argentina and Mexico.

They’re away kits, yes, but they are damn beautiful.

Germany’s is probably the nicest, a cracking shade of green in a throwback to the 1990 World Cup-winning side. The jersey will most likely trigger haunting memories for England fans as it was worn by Die Mannschaft when they knocked out Bobby Robson’s side in the semi-final that year.

Colombia have went with a striking deep blue.

Spain’s is, er, kind of bland.

Mexico: solid but nothing spectacular.

Sweden: effortlessly cool.

Argentina: nice, seriously nice.

Belgium: lovely.

Japan: no thanks.

Russia: pretty damn slick.
