Tyson Fury urged to stop losing weight as he shows off incredible transformation

Nothing short of inspirational

Whatever your opinion on Tyson Fury, you have to hand it to him for the hours put in to shedding all that weight.

After ballooning up to 400lbs in his time away from the ring as he battled depression, anxiety and addiction, Fury has managed to shed over a third of his body weight in what is one of the most remarkable transformations in boxing history.

‘The Gypsy King’ is just a week away from sharing the ring with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles and some have suggested that he could weigh a career-low when he takes to the scales on Friday.

The latest photographs of Fury would definitely lead one to believe that it’ll be close as he looks to be in incredible shape for his first title fight in three years.

Posing alongside cruiserweight star Lawrence Okolie, Fury looked similar in build to his fellow undefeated Brit.

Fury credits his weight loss to a dedicated ketogenic diet and a determined return to training during which no stone was left unturned.

“I was eating a lot and drinking a lot and I just stopped that stuff,” he said on the Joe Rogan Experience.

“My weight was put on through drinking excessive lager. There are 500 calories in a pint of lager and I would go out and drink 18 of them followed by whisky and vodka, then I’d stop off on the way home and eat pizzas and kebabs.”

He continued: “I just trained on a daily basis for a long time and ate sensibly and clean.

“Before I was doing a lot of long running and long boxing work, like 12-15 rounds on the pads. When I was losing the weight I was doing shorter, explosive stuff, doing more interval training.

“My diet was the most important thing, you can train like a Trojan warrior but not eat right and take three steps forward and two and a half back.”

At his heaviest, Fury likely couldn’t have envisaged the current scenario where fans are actually urging him not to lose any more weight because they don’t want the 30-year-old to be too light against Wilder.
