Places at the Rio Olympics are getting ever closer

It was business as usual for Paddy Barnes tonight in the latest event of the World Series of Boxing. The Ulster man had a comfortable night against his Polish opponent when winning all five rounds in the light flyweight division.

Fighting with his team Italia Thunder,Barnes dominated every round and won out 50-45,50-45, 50-43 against Sebastien David Jaodzinski in Hala Mosir Konin. The wins means Barnes is now 3-0 for his action for the European outfit so far this season.

Mick Conlan also had an impressive outing in his bantamweight fight as he didn’t drop a round either in the 50-45×3 win over Sylwester Grzegorz Kozwlowski this evening.

Conlan’s last appearance was a stoppage against Garibaldy Gomez and tonight’s win now puts him 2-1 for the series.

If Conlan and Barnes keep up their impressive recent form they may be eligible for one of the 17 spots available through the competition for the Olympics in 2016.

At least this time they got to fight in the right gear
