You’ll be glad to know that Irish men can indeed dunk.
Yes, Ireland’s very own Lorcan Murphy is putting LeBron James to absolute shame these days, he’s the top dog.
What do you mean you’ve never heard of Lorcan Murphy? He’s only one of the biggest names on the Irish basketball scene (sorry Aidan O’Shea and Kieran Donaghy).
Don’t believe us? Have a look at this so.
Not bad, aye? Murphy was competing in the season opener for his side Black Amber Templeogue as they go on their first step to defending their Regular Season title and comfortably beat the DCU Saints 96-79 away from home.
The only thing is that there was a slight delay in the match because of Murphy’s show of talent and skill. As can be seen, the basketball hoop takes a bit of a beating when the Templeogue star hits his dunk and the whole thing had to be reset.
Five minutes the match was stopped for as the basket was sent into a spin and the onslaught didn’t stop there as Murphy netted a cool 17 points for his side and eight of them came from dunks. Who said Irish men can’t dunk?
It’s not the first time that Murphy has hit the headlines for his speciality, although the last time he didn’t break the basket.
Rewind to a year ago and the same boy put the UCC Demons to the sword with his crazy reverse dunk.
