It hurts just to look
Irish cyclist Sam Bennett is one of the most promising young riders in cycling and is therefore well aware of the inherent dangers that come with the sport.
But the 24-year-old from Carrick-on-Suir got another harsh lesson about life in the peloton when he was at the centre of a horrific crash during  the final kilometre of Wednesday’s Scheldeprijs one-day Classic in Belgium.
To make matters worse Bennett was in contention for victory at the time of the accident. In the end he was happy to walk away (almost) in one piece.
He managed to post some nasty looking pictures of his injuries on his Instagram page.

Still, Bennett could at least laugh it off tweeting a plea for the return of the sunglasses he lost in the crash.
Good lad.
I dont know if this will go out anywhere in belgium but if someone finds my rudy project sun glasses could they return them please? Haha
