Sacre Bleu
The Tour De France comes to a close on Sunday in Paris and for many the highlight of every year is the long hard slog up the most famous climb in cycling.
The Alpe d’Huez ascent has crushed many a rider and that crush isn’t always about the gradient either.
Sometimes the crush effect can be brought on by thousands of fans who come within centimetres of the riders on the long climb up the wall-like hills.
This footage gives you an idea of how annoying those people are as well as the speed that the riders reach when heading down the descents.
It’s amazing stuff, and has given us a new found appreciation of the mania that envelopes the crowds at Irish corner and elsewhere on Le Tour
